Answer to Question 3

We might imagine that New York City is totally car-centric, yet astonishingly it now has 1500 miles of bike lanes!

The New York City Department of Transport Commissioner said: “This historic milestone marks just how far New York City has come in support of bicycling, a sustainable, healthy, and fun way to get around.”

And because of the infrastructure, 30% of New Yorkers now ride a bike. Imagine the additional traffic, air pollution and CO2 emissions if all these people were driving!

If only we had forward-looking politicians in West Northants – we could have cleaner air, better health, and actually be making progress towards our net-zero target.
